ATCA Backplanes – Mesh

The Elma Bustronic Mesh AdvancedTCA (ATCA) backplanes are compliant to the PICMG 3.0 Rev.1.0 specification. The experts in high-speed differential pair routing, Elma Bustronic’s ATCA backplanes have been simulated and characterized by our signal integrity lab to optimize performance.
The 2-slot ATCA is a switchless 2X Replicated Mesh with point-to-point links between the slots. However, a 1X Mesh can be implemented on the 2-slot. The 5-slot and 6-slot are a 3X Replicated Mesh. However, Dual Star, 1X and 2X Meshes can all be implemented across the 5-slot backplane. The 14 and 16-slot mesh backplanes have standard 1X full mesh topologies.

ATCA Backplanes – Dual Star

The Elma Bustronic 14-slot Dual Star AdvancedTCA (ATCA) backplanes are compliant to the PICMG 3.0 Rev.1.0 specification. The experts in high-speed differential pair routing, Elma Bustronic’s ATCA backplanes have been simulated and characterized by our signal integrity lab to optimize performance.
The EasyPlug version is fully pluggable, offering hot-swappability “everywhere”, saving cabling time and money, and reducing mean-time-to-repair (MTTR). These 7U backplanes feature pluggable connectors beneath the card cage area for fan trays, power entry modules, shelf managers, etc. Just like the 5U version, there is approximately 3U of space above the backplane in Zone 3 for rear transition modules.

AdvancedTCA 6U System w/ redundant cooling

This 6U AdvancedTCA Chassis features full redundancy with dual redundant fan trays, shelf managers, and A/C power supplies. The shelf managers and A/C power are optional. Side-to-side cooling is achieved via a plug-in fan tray with dual 170 CFM fans with PWM (pulse width modulation) control on each side of the card cage. The redundant push/pull configurations of the fans offer higher levels of reliability.
The N+1 version offers two 1200W power supplies as well as optional dual shelf management integration. The chassis is ideal for designs that need the high-performance and functionality of ATCA, but prefer AC power supply options.
