SC8-FLUTE

The SC8-FLUTE is a low power CompactPCI® Serial CPU board, based on an Intel® Atom™ x6000RE (Elkhart Lake Industrial) System-on-Chip processor. The front panel is provided with three 2.5Gbps RJ45 Ethernet jacks, and three Type-C USB3/DisplayPort connectors. The board is equipped with 16GB directly soldered DDR4 IBECC RAM, and in addition a DDR4 SODIMM socket for another 16GB.

High speed PCIe® x4 SSD mass storage is available via low profile mezzanine modules (4HP assembly), or multi-function side cards (8HP). The SC8-FLUTE backplane connectors comply with the CompactPCI® Serial system board specification, suitable for reasonable system expansion via 5 x PCIe®, 4 x SATA (two ports configurable as hardware RAID 0/1), and USB3.

SC9-TOCCATA

EKF is presenting its latest CompactPCI serial SBC SC9-TOCCATA in time for Embedded World 2022. Based on the 11th generation Intel® Xeon processor, it not only comes with an extremely high clock speed of up to 4.7 GHz. Thanks to its three USB Type-C sockets (Alternate Mode), it can flexibly control monitors or USB devices, which makes it particularly suitable for graphics-intensive applications in industry and transportation. In addition, it offers three network sockets according to the fast 2.5 Gbase-T standard for setting up complex and/or redundant network structures.

Strong Basics with Flexible Expansion

The SC9 delivers everything that is currently possible in terms of speed and performance on CompactPCI Serial.

With the powerful Intel® XEON CPU of the Tiger Lake H45 platform, it delivers clock rates of up to 4.7 GHz in the highest performance level (base rate 2.6 GHz) with comparatively low power dissipation as well as integrated AI and deep learning functions. Intel also guarantees operation with this processor line not only for high temperatures, but also for the first time at up to -40°. Testing and screening can thus be simplified.

The three modern USB Type-C sockets on the front enable alternating operation: they can therefore either control USB devices or monitors. A fourth monitor can additionally be controlled via the S40 or S48 sidecards. Perfect for demanding visualization applications.

Also via flexible mezzanine modules, the SC9 can be expanded as needed with fast M.2 storage modules (NVMe, up to PCIe Gen4) or wireless functions using PCI Express® Mini Cards. The S42 or S48 sidecards for instance are suitable here. By default, the CPCI Serial SBC is equipped with 64GB DDR4 ECC RAM.

With a total of three RJ45 connectors, EKF meets a recurring customer request: “Many projects require three Ethernet ports, for example when a redundant network already occupies two connectors. With the third network connector, we have now been able to meet this need for more complex network architectures,” explains Bernd Kleeberg, CEO and Head of Sales at EKF.

The backplane provides a total of 25 PCIe® lanes for backplane use and a further 8 lanes for local mezzanine expansion at up to PCIe® Gen4 speed.

Optionally, up to eight additional Gigabit Ethernet ports (either switch or NICs) are available via the P6 backplane connector using a mezzanine module.

For use in rail applications, the SC9 is delivered in conformity with EN 50155 with protective coating.

CN8-REVERB

The CN8-REVERB is a peripheral slot card for CompactPCI® systems. The board is
equipped with five independent PCIe® based Gigabit Ethernet controllers, wired to
associated RJ45 front panel jacks.

The Intel® I210-IT Ethernet NICs provide latest networking technology and support
most common industrial data rates 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 10BASE-T.

The CN8-REVERB combines a PCI® to PCI Express® reverse bridge with a six port
PCI Express® packet switch, for optimum bandwidth usage of the classic
CompactPCI® backplane.

The CN8-REVERB is well suited for various industrial networking applications and
also for PXI™ systems. Drivers are available for all major operation systems.
