SN3-GONG

The SN3-GONG is a peripheral slot card for CompactPCI® Serial systems. The board is equipped with an Intel® X540 10GBASE-T Ethernet controller, and two RJ45 front panel jacks for attachment of Cat 6 or Cat 6A cables up to 100m length. The ability to auto-negotiate between 100Mbps, 1Gbps, and 10Gbps speeds provides the backwards compatibility for a smooth transition and easy migration to 10GbE. The X540 is based on PCI Express® 2.1 (up to 5GT/s) and supports x1, x2, x4 and x8 link widths. For optimum performance, the SN3-GONG should be installed in a CompactPCI® Serial fat pipe slot.

The SN3-GONG is well suited for high performance industrial networking applications. Drivers are available for all major operation systems.

SL2-BRASS

The SL2-BRASS is a 9-port Gigabit Ethernet switch on a peripheral slot card for CompactPCI® Serial systems. The on-board Marvell® 88E6390 GbE switch provides a rich feature set and includes an integrated microprocessor to enable lightly managed switches. While four 1000Base-T GbE ports are wired to associated M12 X-coded front panel receptacles, another four GbE ports are available for backplane communication via the CompactPCI® Serial connector P6. M12 X-coded connectors are optimized for industrial applications, and also for railway usage. X-coded cables and connectors comprise four data signal pairs and comply with Cat6A. Hence, M12 X-coded installations are ready for the forthcoming 2.5/5/10G Ethernet.

As an option, the SL2-BRASS is available with an Intel® I210-IS Gigabit Ethernet controller (NIC) in addition, which is internally connected to an SGMII port of the GbE switch. Usage of the NIC is based on a PCIe Express® enabled CompactPCI® Serial slot (via backplane connector P1). The Gigabit Ethernet switch provides latest features such as 802.1 Audio Video Bridging (AVB/TSN) and Quality of Service (QoS) support. Multiple SL2-BRASS boards on a suitable CompactPCI® Serial backplane can be cascaded to a switch fabric with a scalable number of GbE ports, with or w/o a CPU card on the backplane system slot. When completed with a CompactPCI® Serial CPU board and an LTE module carrier card, a high performance router system can be configured.

SK3-MEDLEY

he SK3-MEDLEY is a peripheral slot board for PICMG® CompactPCI® Serial systems and acts as carrier card for an XMC-style mezzanine module. XMC modules are specified by ANSI/VITA 42/61, as an advanced replacement for PMC modules. While using a similar form factor as PMC cards, XMC modules are provided with a PCI Express® interface. The SK3-MEDLEY is equipped with a bidirectional 8-lane PCI Express® Gen3 redriver, for optimum 8GT/s high speed signal integrity, and should be installed into a fat pipe peripheral slot of a CompactPCI® Serial backplane. The SK3-MEDLEY can be used with 74x139mm2 shortened length XMC mezzanine cards only (for 149mm length consider the SK2-SESSION).

The SK3-MEDLEY requires at least a single PCI Express® lane from the backplane, passed over across the connector P1 to a PCIe redriver circuit. Up to eight PCI Express® lanes are supported, when the SK3-MEDLEY is installed into a CompactPCI® Serial fat pipe peripheral slot (P1/P2 backplane connectors in use). With a total link bandwidth of 64Gbps, even very demanding applications can be realized, such as a 10/40GBps Ethernet or USB 3.1 XMC mezzanine module. The on-board 8-lane bidirectional redriver is suitable up to 8.0Gbps (PCIe 3.0) data transfer rate per lane, and ensures optimum signal integrity (wider opening with respect to the eye diagrams). The XMC module connector J15 is directly tied to the redriver circuit. In addition, a zero delay PCIe Gen3 clock buffer is provided on-board. Due to space restrictions on the SK3-MEDLEY imposed by the backplane connector P2, only 139mm length XMC mezzanine modules can be populated.
