ECX-PCIE

The ECX-PCIE is a mezzanine side card for EKF CompactPCI® Serial CPU boards, equipped with a PCIe® Gen3 packet switch, on-board NVMe and SATA mass storage, and high speed front I/O.

The PCI Express® switch supports a CompactPCI® Express (aka PXI Express™) backplane with four links organized as Gen3 x4, thereby replacing a CompactPCI® Express CPU card. This enables a hybrid system which is comprised of two backplanes, CompactPCI® Serial boards to the left, and CompactPCI® Express peripheral cards to the right. The CompactPCI® Serial CPU controls also the CompactPCI® Express backplane via the ECX-PCIE mezzanine card.

The ECX-PCIE is suitable for EKF CPU carrier cards such as the SC5-FESTIVAL, with support for 8 x PCIe® lanes on a mezzanine board.

The CPU carrier board and ECX-PCIE side card assembly requires 10HP common front panel width, and must be inserted into the particular system slots of two adjacent backplanes. While the CPU card fits into a CompactPCI® Serial backplane which has its system slot right aligned, the ECX-PCIE meets the left aligned system slot of the neighbouring CompactPCI® Express backplane.

In addition, the ECX-PCIE is provided with an M.2 socket for an NVMe (PCIe®) or SATA SSD module. Another socket is suitable for either a PCIe® Mini Card, or mSATA SSD. Furthermore, the ECX-PCIE is equipped with three GbE and three USB 3.0 ports for front I/O, which expands the native CPU carrier card I/O. As an option, the front panel can be provided with SMA antenna connectors for WWAN or WLAN operation.

SC5-FESTIVAL

The SC5-FESTIVAL is a rich featured high performance 4HP/3U CompactPCI® Serial CPU board, equipped with an Intel® Xeon® E3 familiy mobile workstation processor for demanding applications. For scalability, the SC5-FESTIVAL is also available with a 7th Generation Intel® Core™ processor.

The SC5-FESTIVAL front panel is provided with two Gigabit Ethernet jacks, two USB 3.0 receptacles, and two DisplayPort connectors. In addition, up to two USB Type-C front panel receptacles are available as an option, one of them usable alternatively as (third) DisplayPort.

On-board mass-storage solutions are based on a low profile mezzanine expansion card, which accommodates two M.2 style SSD modules. One of the M.2 sockets is suitable for a fast NVMe (PCIe Gen3 x 4) module, and the other for a low cost SATA type M.2 SSD.

The SC5-FESTIVAL is equipped with up to 32GB DDR4 RAM with ECC support. Up to 16GB memory-down are provided for rugged applications, and another 16GB are available via the DDR4 ECC SO-DIMM socket.

The powerful Xeon® E3-1500 v6 series processor is accompanied by the CM238 mobile PCH, for a maximum of high speed I/O resources (e.g. PCI Express®, SATA, USB). Thus, 22 PCIe lanes are available for backplane use, and up to 8 lanes for local mezzanine expansion.

The SC5-FESTIVAL is provided with an on-board SATA hardware RAID controller, enabling high-capacity mass storage solutions across the CompactPCI® Serial backplane.

As an option, up to eight Gigabit Ethernet Ports are available via the backplane connector P6 (low profile mezzanine expansion card).

SC8-FLUTE

The SC8-FLUTE is a low power CompactPCI® Serial CPU board, based on an Intel® Atom™ x6000RE (Elkhart Lake Industrial) System-on-Chip processor. The front panel is provided with three 2.5Gbps RJ45 Ethernet jacks, and three Type-C USB3/DisplayPort connectors. The board is equipped with 16GB directly soldered DDR4 IBECC RAM, and in addition a DDR4 SODIMM socket for another 16GB.

High speed PCIe® x4 SSD mass storage is available via low profile mezzanine modules (4HP assembly), or multi-function side cards (8HP). The SC8-FLUTE backplane connectors comply with the CompactPCI® Serial system board specification, suitable for reasonable system expansion via 5 x PCIe®, 4 x SATA (two ports configurable as hardware RAID 0/1), and USB3.
