COM Express® compact, Pin-out Type 2 module featuring 2nd Generation Atom Technology

The Kontron COMe-cPV2 is a COM Express® compact, Pin-out Type 2 Computer-on-Module with the second-generation Intel® Atom processor. With Intel’s highly integrated two-chip design, dual-core option, and cost-efficient processors, COMe-cPV2 modules accelerate the development of ultra-low-power embedded appliances. The COMe-cPV2 also is a drop-in replacement for Intel® Pentium® M based designs.

COMe-cPC2

Highest Performance on COM Express® compact, Pin-out Type 2

The COMe-cPC2 brings 45 nm performance generations of Intel® Core2 Duo processors with the SSE4 instruction set and the chipset Intel® GS45 to COM Express® compact (95 x 95 mm) module. Its performance is the highest available on compact COM Express®

COMe-cPC2 sets new standards in many terms: fast DDR3 SO-DIMM memory up to 4 GB and L2 cache up to 6 MB. This new module opens up performance scalability to the top within Kontron’s microETXexpress® family.

COMe-cPC2 is assembled with Intel® small form factor package: for instance, the ICH9M was shrunk from 961 mm² to 256 mm². This allows the assembly of a full featured high-end performance module on the small microETXexpress® form factor. On top of that, Intel® small form factor package processors allow operations in ultra low voltage for high energy-efficiency.

Especially, its 3 SerialATA and 1 PATA ports establishes the COMe-cPC2 for heavy data sensitive applications. With full DirectX® 10 capability, Windows® Vista is also supported.

Like all Kontron COM Express® compact modules, it is compatible to the COM Express® basic modules. Therefore, upgrading existing carrier boards originally designed for COM Express® basic gets easy and minimizes redesign efforts.
