COM Express® Compact Type 6 with 8th Generation Intel® Core™ / Celeron® Processors

Die neuen Kontron COMe-cWL6 (E2S) Module erlauben bis zu 48 GByte DDR4 Arbeitsspeicher, optional sind sie erstmals im Compact-Format mit schneller NVMe SSD erhältlich. Die Modulesind ideal für raue Betriebsumgebungen im Industrie-Umfeld geeignet; so sind beispielsweise Rugged Module verfügbar, die sich bei Temperaturen zwischen -40 Grad Celsius und +85 Grad Celsius einsetzen lassen. Für noch mehr Robustheit sorgt die Option mit einem gelöteten Arbeitsspeicher (Memory-down) von bis zu 8 GByte DDR4 ist. Kontron bietet zusätzlich eine gescreente E2-Variante an.

Das COMe-cWL6 ist ideal als leistungstarker Nachfolger für bestehende Lösungen geeignet, da es deren Steckerbelegung und Feature-Implementierung übernimmt. Typische Anwendungsbereiche sind z.B. in der Kommunikation, Digital Signage, Professional Gaming und Entertainment, medizinische Bildgebung, Überwachung und Sicherheit, industrielle Edge Computer, sowie die Steuerung von Industrieanlagen, Maschinen und Robotern sowohl auf dem Shop-Floor-Level als auch vom Kontrollraum aus.

Die neuen COM Express® Module unterstützen die Kontron APPROTECT Security Lösung basierend auf Wibu-Systems CodeMeter®. Kontron APPROTECT Licensing ermöglicht zudem neue Geschäftsmodelle mit Pay-per-Use und zeitbasierte Testversionen.

The COMe-cEL6 COM Express compact Type 6 module is highly scalable and covers the entire range of Intel’s x6000 IoT-ready embedded processors. The COMe-cEL6 portfolio range from a cost optimized dual-core Intel Celeron (2x 1.2 GHz with 6W TDP) iteration optimized for energy-sensitive applications to genuine quad-core Intel Atom (4x 1.9 with 12W TDP) versions for high-end real-time applications.

Users benefit from a significantly improved computing performance, an impressive performance-per-watt ratio and the long-term availability inherent in all Kontron embedded solutions.

COM Express® Compact Type 6 with AMD Ryzen™ Embedded V/R1000 APUs

The COMe-cVR6 (E2) deliver a new generation of high-performance, feature-rich Computer-on-Modules based on the standardized COM Express® compact form factor and AMD’s Ryzen Embedded V/R-Series processors. Through the use of consistent COM Express connectors and feature implementation, the COMe-cVR6 is easily exchangeable and offers the most flexibility for customers designing it into their embedded devices based on individual carrier boards.

Besides the high-performance graphics on a SOC level, the COMe-cVR6 offers the option to additionally or alternatively use soldered memory. As a result, the module supports a total of up to 48 GB RAM or provides more thermal and mechanical resistance with up to 16 GB memory down.

Thanks to the fixed connection, soldered memory modules are better to cool and stay in reliable contact even when exposed to extreme vibrations or shocks. Therefore, customers can choose between more storage or greater ruggedness.

Typical application areas can be found in markets such as professional gaming and entertainment as well as medical imaging and surveillance. In addition, the rugged E2 modules – together with memory down option, ECC memory support and industrial grade temp. range usage – meet the special requirements of applications for the Military/Defense and Transportation market.
