DHCP – Assigned Platform Management Parameters Specification

$750.00

The purpose of this specification is to define the format used to request and receive configuration information from a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server. This allows an xTCA device to request and receive information automatically, on demand. The use of DHCP for configuration can greatly simplify the management of an xTCA environment, eliminating the potential need to manually configure dozens of devices per ATCA or MicroTCA Shelf. In this specification, an IPM Controller identifies itself for configuration purposes by a geographic location, in a way that is independent of the IPM Controller’s implementation or the identity of the Board or Module (generically, a FRU) into which it is integrated. If the FRU containing the IPM Controller is replaced by another in the same Shelf location, the new FRU gets the same identification and therefore the same configuration information assigned.
