WAKEFIELD, Mass., August 12th, 2014 – PICMG, a leading standards organization for the communications, military and embedded computer industries, announces the launch of its new website at www.picmg.org. The new site was designed for PICMG members, open standard computing users and developers to easily access technical and industry content. The PICMG site is now fully responsive, which will allow full access to the site and its content from desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile. As the site evolves it will become the authoritative resource for Open Standards computing.
In its 20 years of operation, PICMG has published almost 50 open industry specifications that are part of nine basic standards families developed by participants from hundreds of companies. Work across a wide range of technologies continues and PICMG members have some big plans for the next decade as the boundaries of datacom, telecom, industrial, mil/aero, and deeply embedded computing blur. The new website is a celebration of PICMG’s history as well as a resource to provide the latest specification details and status. The procedure for purchasing specifications and downloading content has been streamlined for ease of use.
“PICMG has a twenty year track record of developing open standards that represent over $5B USD in global annual revenues. PICMG’s processes are open, fair, and our intellectual property policy is the best in the business. With over 250 member companies, PICMG draws on an extremely broad talent base to tackle a wide range of standardization opportunities. The new web site explains how we do business, and we encourage anyone interested in embedded computing standards to take a look,” said Joe Pavlat, PICMG President.
