Concurrent Technologies launches an AdvancedMC® module based on latest Intel® processor devices (formerly known as Kaby Lake)

Concurrent Technologies, a leading supplier of boards for critical embedded applications, has launched its first product based on the latest generation of Intel® processors. AM G6x/msd is a double AdvancedMC® (AMC) module, suitable for use in MicroTCA.4 based systems for high-speed physics, communications, instrumentation and test based applications.

For high performance applications, AM G6x/msd is available with a 4-core Intel® Xeon® E3-1505M v6 processor running at 3.0GHz combined with up to 32GB DDR4 memory.  For customers needing more modest performance at a lower price point, a variant is available fitted with the Intel® Core™ i3-7102E processor which has 2-cores and runs at 2.1GHz.  These processor variants have Intel® HD Graphics which can support up to 4k resolutions and three simultaneous displays for clear and responsive graphics.  AM G6x/msd has direct attached storage including an on board 64GB SATA based micro Solid State Drive (SSD) and two sites for M.2 storage modules.  The M.2 sites have PCI Express® interconnects and support Non-Volatile Memory Express® (NVMe™) protocol for high performance mass storage applications.  AM G6x/msd is designed to support the future Intel® Optane™ range of 3D XPoint™ modules which are expected to be made available during 2017 with the expectation of further improvements in storage speed.

Another new feature introduced in this generation of double AMC modules from Concurrent Technologies is the option for dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. This is designed to enable higher speed networking over long distances using fibre links.  As with other Concurrent Technologies products, AM G6x/msd is designed for long life-cycle applications.
Glen Fawcett, CEO of Concurrent Technologies, commented: “Our latest AM G6x/msd provides additional performance and local storage capacity by utilizing features on the latest Intel processor. This new module, combined with our high quality in-house manufacturing capabilities and outstanding technical support service, should ensure our already excellent reputation is further enhanced in the instrumentation, test and high-speed physics community.”
